What can I do temperatures increase the engine life in extreme cold?
I use 5W30 oil in my Corolla at 100,000 miles on a well maintained engine. Is there any oil additives should I use, or should I use synthetic? Also how long is enough to warm up an engine before the Voyage, when it 13 degrees farenheit outside?
Letting your engine idle is to reduce the engine life, not prolong it. In addition, You are wasting fuel with multi-viscosity oil. Modern multi-viscosity oil is thin enough to flow through the engine, even in extremely cold temperatures.
